Our story
Beyond City Lights was born out of a dedication to community service and sharing kindness.
During our university years, we (being Ruvi and Milan, the co-founders) were involved in a uni club which took students out to regional towns to engage in volunteering projects throughout the year. In our final year, we led this club and had such a great time that when we graduated, we figured we were not done volunteering and decided to keep helping out where we could.
Throughout 2023, we ran a number of volunteering trips similar to the ones we had done back at uni. We got heaps of good feedback because people truly enjoyed the work, so after we had done this a few times, the idea for Beyond City Lights was born and here we are!
Our aim is to keep giving back to the community and to keep connecting city and country through acts of kindness.
Our goals
1. Community Service
We are dedicated to providing meaningful service to regional communities, recognising and addressing their unique challenges. Our goal is to leave a lasting and positive impact on the towns we visit.
2. Individual Empowerment
We are committed to offering our volunteers unique opportunities for personal growth, team collaboration and the acquisition of valuable life skills. These experiences, different from the hustle of everyday city life, are designed to challenge our members to form deeper connections within themselves and the community around them.
3. Urban-Regional Connection
We emphasise the importance of fostering authentic relationships between urban and regional communities. Through collaborative effort, we strive to break down barriers and promote mutual understanding, ultimately contributing to a stronger and more interconnected Australia.
